The idea to create Europos Parkas in the neglected forest came to Lithuanian artist Gintaras Karosas, who was barely 19 at the time. Europos Parkas is highlighted as Destination Art by art researcher Amy Dempsey. The UK experts listed Europos Parkas as one of the fifty best sites for visual arts in Europe. Admission to Europos Parkas, Open-Air Museum of the Centre of Europe featuring over 100 artworks from all over the world, spread around leafy woodlands, rolling hills, grasslands dotted with natural springs. Open-air museum gives an artistic significance to the geographic centre of the European continent and spans 55 hectares. The collection includes large scale works by famous contemporary artists such as Abakanowicz, Oppenheim, LeWitt, Pepper. Acknowledged by Guinness World Records the world's largest artwork of TV sets is also on exhibit. The monument of the Centre of Europe shows directions and distances to all capitals of European countries. In Europos Parkas visitors explore art, relax and get inspiration. Europos Parkas run by one of the first NGO in Lithuania. Admission helps to continue the creation of the art and nature ensemble.
