007 – Legendary Songs from James Bond Films

On November 5, María (Marija Arutiunova) and Vytautas Straižys will create an unforgettable musical journey through legendary James Bond film songs at DOWNTOWN PIANO LAB, including “Skyfall”, “Goldfinger” and many others. This will be more than a conventional performance of popular songs: they will sound anew, enriched with unexpected arrangements, colorful harmonies and subtle improvisations.

María is an exceptional and charismatic soloist, one of the brightest performers at Kaunas State Musical Theatre. She has created more than 20 roles, including the title role in the musical “Elisabeth”. She has received the “Fortūna” Award and was nominated for the “Auksinis scenos kryžius” (Golden Stage Cross), while her voice can be heard in opera, operetta, musicals, popular music, films, animated films and TV series. María’s performances stand out for their technical mastery, emotional power and distinctive stage presence.

Vytautas Straižys is a pianist who graduated from the M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts and completed a master’s degree in jazz at the Royal Conservatoire in the Netherlands. His work brings together jazz, classical music and improvisation, with influences ranging from Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans and Herbie Hancock to Sergei Rachmaninoff and Claude Debussy.
