20 Metres of Animation | Culture Night

We invite you to the creative animation workshop "20 Metres of Animation" – an experiential journey through the history of animation and the principles of creating movement. During the workshop, participants will explore the origins of animation – from primitive drawings and the emergence of the illusion of motion to modern stop motion animation. The first part will feature a brief theoretical overview of the development of animation and the principles of depicting movement. In the second part, participants will create a shared visual narrative on a long roll of paper – drawing spontaneous images, symbols, characters and ideas, developing a collective story in space. In the final part, the drawings will come to life in animation – using the mobile app "Stop Motion Studio", participants will photograph the created images and produce a shared animated film.
