35 Years of Lithuanian National Parks | TRAKAI
Established 35 years ago, Lithuanian national parks have become the most important areas for preserving our landscape, biodiversity, and cultural heritage. This anniversary provides an opportunity to evaluate the work done and to remind once again that the preservation of these values depends on each of our attitudes and behaviors. Among the country's landscapes, Trakai and its surroundings hold a unique place due to their picturesque beauty. On hills and in valleys, in hilly shady forests, amidst lakes shimmering in hollows and green marsh carpets, many archaeological, historical, and architectural treasures have been preserved, vividly reflecting ancient Lithuania. The Trakai Historical National Park was established in Trakai and its surroundings, covering an area of 8.2 thousand hectares. The core of the national park is the Trakai Island and Peninsula Castle Complex and the Old Town of Trakai, stretching on a narrow peninsula between Lake Galvė, Lake Totoriškės, and Lake Bernardinai. We invite you to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Lithuanian National Parks together in the historic setting of Užutrakis Manor.
