"A Minor Detail" consists of two contrasting parts. The first part tells of a crime that occurred in 1949: a Palestinian girl was raped and murdered by Israeli soldiers. In the second part, a woman from Ramallah reads about this crime in a newspaper and realizes that the day of the girl's murder coincides with her own birthday. She then embarks on a difficult and fruitless journey to Israel, with the aim of discovering more information and trying to reveal this story from the perspective of the murdered girl, rather than relying on the soldiers' testimonies. According to the play's director, A. Juška, "the book raises questions that haunt me. How to tell about violence? Where is the limit that narrative, art, empathy cannot overcome? Is a (re)telling possible that does not create a copy of the violence that occurred? What does it mean to be powerless? How does this change the nature of the narrative? How can the stronger empathize with the weaker if they cannot understand their story? We will begin rehearsals with these questions. With a story that we cannot tell, and which we also cannot not tell." Premiere: November 25, 26, 2025 More about the play
