AMERIKOS BALSAI Opening: Newsome Choir (USA) | FREE

Vilnius is launching the annual international concert series “Amerikos balsai” (Voices of America) – a musical journey inviting you to explore the culture, energy, and contemporary choral music tradition of various US choirs for free on long summer evenings. Audiences can look forward to exceptional choirs from various American cities and universities – from youthful student ensembles to internationally acclaimed collectives. The opening concert of “Amerikos balsai” will take place on June 12th with the “Newsome High School Choir” from Florida (USA). This is an energetic and versatile choir of 50 young performers from Newsome High School, led by conductors Jeff Bogue and Miranda Goodwin. Over the years, the choir has gained recognition in the US choral music community, and international tours have already taken them to Great Britain, Ireland, Germany, and Austria, where they performed in historic sacred music venues and festivals. This summer, the ensemble embarks on a concert tour through Sweden and the Baltic States.
