AMERICAN VOICES: Royal Blues Choir (USA) | FREE ADMISSION

On June 30, St. Catherine's Church will host a performance by "Royal Blues" – one of the most prominent youth chamber choirs from Portland (Oregon, USA), which has been representing its city on both US and international stages for over five decades. The ensemble consists of about 30 of the most talented young people from Grant High School, united by high artistic excellence and a love for choral music. The choir has performed in Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Austria, and other European countries, and in 2005 was invited to perform at the prestigious American Choral Directors Association national conference at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. - ABOUT THE PROGRAM - In Vilnius, they will perform a diverse program combining Renaissance music, contemporary choral works, spiritual music, American folk traditions, and even unexpected interpretations of popular music. The program features works by Arvo Pärt, Pärt Uusberg, Elaine Hagenberg, Moses Hogan, and other composers. The choir is led by conductor John A. Eisemann, who actively collaborates with the world's most prominent vocal ensembles and is the founder of the professional early music group "Evenstar Ensemble". -- June 30 is a wonderful opportunity to hear one of the finest youth choirs from the USA and enjoy a summer evening filled with youthful energy, precise sound, and the beauty of choral music.
