ABOUT HUMAN || Puppet show for the little ones (ages 2-6)
What does the inside of an ear look like? What is hiding inside the nose? What do flying tears do? This interactive play-game invites little ones aged 2 to 6 to discover themselves and their bodies, and to look for answers to big questions: Who am I? Where did I come from? Who creates our world? During the performance, when invited by the actors, the audience will be able to join the game and explore the secrets of the human body together. Director Justina Jukonytė, winner of the Golden Stage Cross, found inspiration for the performance APIE ŽMOGŲ in the works of the famous Spanish painter: “The performance is inspired by the works of Joan Miró, which is why it is so colorful and somewhat surreal. I liked the idea of creating a fairly abstract plot made of details, thus encouraging the child's imagination to run wild. A child's world is colorful and full of fantastic, magical things. I wanted to encourage them to create their own unique world and believe in the power of creativity. The game format allows them not only to live through certain experiences but also to participate in the creative process, become part of the performance, be curious, and explore.” “In this performance, I follow the collage principle, which perfectly matches the playful and surreal nature of the show – the image is built from separate, not directly related details and colors that contrast with the shapes. In the imagination, this world gains its momentum and meaning,” says artist and scenographer Neringa Keršulytė, also a winner of the Golden Stage Cross, sharing her thoughts on the search for surrealism.
