July 23, 2026, 7 PM, Town Hall Square, Didžioji St. 31, Vilnius Tango Evening in Vilnius Town Hall Square, dedicated to Argentina's Independence Day Argentina's Independence Day, celebrated on July 9, is a special date for the country that gave tango to the world. On this occasion, on July 23, Vilnius will be filled with the spirit of tango, elegance, love, and dance. Pioneers of Argentinian tango in Lithuania, “4Tango” and Eduardo Gimenez, have been playing, dancing, singing, and fostering tango culture in Lithuania since 1999. Their activities have contributed to the creation of the tango community and the dissemination of this unique art among Lithuanian residents and city guests. Tango is a universal language. It is one of the few cultural phenomena that does not require a common language – people connect through music, movement, and emotions. Almost everyone in the world knows the word “tango,” but only a live encounter with this music and dance allows one to feel its true essence. The program will feature the most famous works by Astor Piazzolla, classical Argentinian tangos from the early 20th century, and specially selected music for both dancers and listeners. One part of the program will invite people to dance, while the other will allow the audience to simply listen, close their eyes, and immerse themselves in the world of music. Eduardo Gimenez – a promoter of Argentinian tango in Lithuania, actively contributing to the dissemination of tango culture since 1999 as a dancer, singer, event organizer, and community builder. 4TANGO – a quartet founded in 1999.
