ASTA BUTĖNIENĖ | What's Old – (Un)forgotten. What's New – (Un)discovered.

This is a retrospective of the artist's painting works. The creator invites you to look at her creations together and, as time flows, feel how both the creative process itself and the perception of the world change, as well as the colors used and the moods and emotions conveyed. From the very beginning of her creative journey, the artist enjoyed using bright and cheerful colors, which permeated her early works. Over time, the variety of colors changed, but yellow and blue tones very often found their way onto the palette. Thus, these primary colors remain dominant in her paintings. They are like the foundation and essence of the whole world: sun + water. The former is always warm and cheerful, while the latter is always uncertain. Water can be ice-cold, but it quickly warms up when heated by the sun. The same applies to Asta's paintings. She wants and aims for her works to warm your inner world and evoke pleasant memories. And that upon visiting this exhibition, you take away as much positivity and positive emotions as possible. Remember and do not forget that what is old – let it not be forgotten, and what is new – let it be discovered.
