BIX – Lukiškės Prison 2.0
Few bands can boast a history like BIX: from underground basements, to an ahead-of-its-time European tour, and sharing the stage with the punk icons of the era. We meet the BIX guys again on June 3rd! The band’s soul Saulius Urbonavičius-Samas and his bandmates return to the Lukiškės Prison space not as a museum exhibit, but as creators whose sound and message have not lost an ounce of their weight over the decades. The historic heritage site has already become a special place for the band – it was here that they staged “BIX Berlin ’89”, and later Samas bared his art in the intimate “Piano & A Microphone” format at the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. The post-punk sharpness and funk rhythms that collide in BIX’s music sound surprisingly contemporary today, and their latest album “BIX-Ray” on vinyl – which astonished music critics – proved that the social “X-ray” they create is more relevant than ever. The walls of Lukiškės Prison are the perfect backdrop for BIX’s music, which never chased fashion, and therefore never went out of it. We invite not only loyal fans but also those who have never heard the band live. Quoting Samas: We couldn’t say it better ourselves! “The Lukiškės Prison space is perfectly suited to our message. It’s simply a superb place to perform. We invite everyone to let loose the way we did in the ’90s. You’ll get an energy bomb!” In the background – the legendary BIX track “Between Europe and Hong Kong” This concert is presented by the prison conversion mainstay “Švyturys nealkoholinis” and we thank them for that. A timeless, energetic and very BIX experience awaits us. Tickets here! Gates: 18:00 Start: 19:00
