Book Launch: Ugnė Juodytė's "The Anatomy of Burnout"
When you give more and more of yourself to work, but the result still seems unattainable, you might eventually feel that everything loses its meaning. These are precisely the first symptoms of burnout. Psychologist Ugnė Juodytė views burnout not only as personal exhaustion but also as a complex consequence of one's relationship with work, expectations, self-esteem, and life pace. Noticing that this topic is highly relevant yet still insufficiently explored, the author compiled her many years of professional experience into her first book – "The Anatomy of Burnout". This is a practical and vivid exploration of the burnout phenomenon, based on over 200 conversations with people who have experienced burnout and with specialists. We invite you to explore burnout more closely – come to the book launch event, where the author, together with actors Irena Jankutė and Rimvydas Ambrazevičius, will portray a situation taking place in a psychologist's office, where a manager meets an employee experiencing burnout. This sketch will help to better understand how burnout manifests in the workplace and what can be expected in the therapeutic process. After the theatrical performance, you will be able to hear a live conversation between a person who has experienced this state and a psychologist, ask questions, get an autograph, and perhaps re-evaluate – is burnout lurking near you? The evening's atmosphere will be complemented by a performance by pianist Adrej Polevikov , and the smooth running of the event will be ensured by moderator Eglė Skrolytė. The event is free, and you will be able to purchase "The Anatomy of Burnout" during it. We invite you to register – https://forms.office.com/e/1QSfgu6pXM
