Contemporary Art Fair "ArtVilnius'26"
International Contemporary Art Fair "ArtVilnius'26" The 17th International Contemporary Art Fair "ArtVilnius'26" will take place on 1–4 October 2026 at the Lithuanian Exhibition and Congress Centre "Litexpo". "ArtVilnius" is the largest international art fair in the Baltic region, presenting the contemporary art scene and inviting visitors to meet the most interesting Lithuanian and foreign galleries, artists, curators and representatives of art institutions. Each year the fair is attended by around 70 galleries and institutions from more than 20 countries, with visitor numbers reaching about 21,000–23,000. The list of participants will be announced in July. The fair's director is Diana Stomienė and its artistic director is Sonata Baliuckaitė Arlauskienė. The organiser is the public institution "ArtVilnius" of the Lithuanian Art Gallerists' Association. Focus – Vilnius, Warsaw, Vienna At the international fair "ArtVilnius'26", special attention will be given to three art capitals – Vilnius, Warsaw and Vienna. This year's fair theme will allow visitors to explore the contemporary art scene of three European capitals in greater depth, to listen to the cultural dialogue of these cities, to recall shared historical experiences and to discover today's art trends. Projects Zone A Projects Zone will be set up in Hall 4 of "Litexpo", curated this year by Neringa Bumblienė, director of the Nida Art Colony of the Vilnius Academy of Arts and artistic director and curator of the Vilnius Performance Art Biennial. She says that this year the Projects Zone draws a diagonal westward from Vilnius, connecting the art scenes of three capitals of our wider region. Each of them – Vilnius, Warsaw and Vienna – has a specific history, artists and actively working institutions. This unusual perspective, juxtaposing Vilnius with Warsaw and Vienna, expands the established boundaries that define our region, allows the discovery of unexpected connections and differences, and offers new perspectives on both ourselves and others in our nearer or more distant neighbourhood. Exhibition "The Path" The fair will host the traditional international exhibition of sculptures and installations "The Path", featuring individual artists selected by the guest curator – art curator and writer Aliaksei Barysionak from Vienna. Additional programme The artistic programme of "ArtVilnius'26" will be complemented by discussions, lectures, presentations of art publications, an educational programme and tours led by art critics. As in previous years, a guest jury will select the best fair participants. This year the fair will also feature a "Young Collector" stand with curator-selected artworks priced at no more than 1,000 euros. During the fair, a series of talks and discussions "ArtVilnius Talks" will also take place. The "ArtVilnius'26" project is funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture, supported by the Vilnius City Municipality, with patron – the law firm "Cobalt" and general partner – "Eika Group".
