Dance Performance GLOW | PREMIERE
The dance performance "Glow" explores silence as a liminal state β a transitional space between who you were and who you are becoming. In a contemporary world where women are constantly encouraged to be seen, heard, productive, and responsive, silence is often perceived as passivity, weakness, or even loss. "Glow" raises the question of whether silence can become an opposing act β a conscious withdrawal from external noise and expectations, allowing one to hear whose voice we truly live by. Here, silence is not suppression. It is a consciously chosen space where imposed identities, learned voices, and the need for constant control dissolve. Throughout the performance, the dancers' closed eyes become not a symbol of blindness, but a refusal to rely solely on the external world. To dance life with other senses. Only by daring to dwell in this unknown does the possibility for transformation open up. "Glow" speaks of the space between two identities β a state where you are no longer who you were, but you don't yet know who you are becoming. It is an uncomfortable, undefined space where the usual noise of the world fades, and one is left face to face with oneself. This is not a light that conquers darkness. It is a phenomenon that becomes visible only within it. Therefore, darkness here is not a metaphor for fear or loss β it becomes a necessary condition for inner light to reveal itself. Only by embracing this liminal state can a new identity be born β not imposed from the outside, but grown from silence. Only when we stop controlling everything do we truly begin to see.
