Darkside

On July 14, Nicolás Jaar and DARKSIDE return to Vilnius after more than ten years. The concert, taking place in the Grand Courtyard of the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, will be the band's only performance in the Baltic States. The last time DARKSIDE visited Lithuania, the band had suspended its activities and was playing its final concerts. Now they return with a new lineup and the album "Nothing": Tlacael Esparza has joined Nicolás Jaar and Dave Harrington. The band comes to Vilnius to present this very work. "Nothing" is DARKSIDE's third album and the first created as a trio. It was born from improvisations, spontaneous sessions, and new mutual chemistry. Along with it, the logic of the band's sound also changed. The album offers more freedom, more visceral pulse, more openness to the unexpected. Critics have already called "Nothing" DARKSIDE's strongest work to date ("Stereogum"). "Billboard" wrote that it is an album reflecting the restless state of the present world and responding to it with one of the band's most vibrant creative forms. "Pitchfork" described it as a pulsating, raw, and hopeful response to the chaos of 2020. From "Psychic" to "Spiral," DARKSIDE has always created music that defies easy definitions. It brings together electronics, psychedelia, dub, guitar expression, and an ever-changing song form. "Nothing" continues this direction and opens a new chapter for the band. It sounds darker, freer, and even more confident. This concert in the Grand Courtyard of the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania will be a rare opportunity to experience live a band that, after a long silence, has returned with new energy, a new album, and the same exceptional ability to create music from tension, space, and feeling.
