Didžioji Pohulianka – a street where history and human destinies meet

Dragės kelionės invites you to take a walk through the colorful and luxurious Didžioji Pohulianka, known today as J. Basanavičius Street. On this tour, we will embark on a journey through time: you will learn how the street grew and changed in the 19th century, how small gardeners' cottages were replaced by luxurious apartment buildings, and what kind of people shaped the history and character of this street. You will hear inspiring, sometimes dramatic stories about the people who lived, created, loved, and were connected to Didžioji Pohulianka. We will recall the most important historical events that took place here, featuring J. Basanavičius, after whom this street was later named. During the tour, you will also see the building that was the tallest in Lithuania for a long time and find out what made it so unique.
