A NEW VERSION OF THE LEGENDARY COMEDY!

The comedy "Defending the Caveman", first staged on Broadway in 1996, became the longest-running one-man show in the entire history of Broadway. Since then, the enormously popular work has spread around the world and been staged in more than 30 countries. In Lithuania, the play was first shown in 2005. It has been performed more than 1,000 times in various cities across the country! The single lead character has been played by actors Dainius Kazlauskas, Kostas Smoriginas, Darius Meškauskas, Vaidotas Martinaitis and Giedrius Savickas.

In this brand-new production, the role of the "Caveman" will be played by actor Paulius Valaskevičius, well known to audiences from his roles in the Domino Theatre plays "Men Wanted" and "Something's Not Right Here", as well as from the television projects "Dviračio žinios", "Moterys meluoja geriau", "Rimti reikalai", "Monikai reikia meilės" and "Visi vyrai kiaulės". The play is directed by Dainius Kazlauskas, creator of the beloved and popular comedies "Men Wanted", "Pianists", "Boeing Boeing", "Psichai" and "Tobuli melagiai".

The comedy "Defending the Caveman" explores a subject that will probably never go out of style – the relationship and dynamic between men and women. The play reveals witty gender differences in everyday situations that both men and women will recognize in themselves. Have you ever wondered why men can't multitask, or why women get so worked up over a splattered bathroom mirror yet again? In this comedy, marking its twentieth year on the Lithuanian stage, we'll explore an inexhaustible subject – men, women, and their relationships. We'll try to understand the differences and similarities between the sexes, and laugh at everyday situations in which we recognize ourselves. We'll discover that, although the world is changing, we're still grappling with the same questions as in the days of the "caveman".

"The play's themes are timeless, at least for as long as men and women, their relationships and their gender differences continue to exist. Every production of 'Defending the Caveman' is grounded in today's realities, so the play keeps evolving. If you saw the show five or ten years ago, you'll now see completely different situations", says director Dainius Kazlauskas, convinced of this.
