The comedy "The Caveman," first staged on Broadway in 1996, became the longest-running solo show in Broadway history. Since then, the immensely popular work has spread worldwide and been presented in over 30 countries. In Lithuania, the play was first shown in 2005. It has been performed over 1000 times in various cities across our country! The main and sole character has been embodied by actors Dainius Kazlauskas, Kostas Smoriginas, Darius Meškauskas, Vaidotas Martinaitis, and Giedrius Savickas. In a completely new staging of the play, the role of "The Caveman" will be performed by actor Paulius Valaskevičius, well-known to audiences from his roles in "Domino" Theatre productions such as "Vyrai pagal skelbimą," "Kažkas čia ne taip," and television projects "Dviračio žinios," "Moterys meluoja geriau," "Rimti reikalai," "Monikai reikia meilės," "Visi vyrai kiaulės." The play is directed by Dainius Kazlauskas, who has created popular and beloved comedies like "Vyrai pagal skelbimą," "Pianistai," "Boeing Boeing," "Psichai," or "Tobuli melagiai." The comedy "The Caveman" explores a theme that will likely never go out of style – the relationships between men and women and their dynamics. The play reveals witty gender differences in everyday situations where both men and women will recognize themselves. Have you ever wondered why men can't multitask, or why women get so angry about a bathroom mirror that's been splashed again? In "The Caveman," a comedy celebrating two decades on the Lithuanian stage, we will delve into the inexhaustible topic of men, women, and their relationships. We will try to understand gender differences, similarities, and laugh at everyday situations in which we recognize ourselves. We will discover that, even though the world changes, we are still dealing with the same questions since the time of the "caveman." "The themes of the play are timeless, at least as long as men and women, their relationships, and gender differences exist. Each staging of 'The Caveman' is based on current events, so the play constantly evolves. If you saw the play five or ten years ago, you will now see completely different situations," says director Dainius Kazlauskas. The play is created in collaboration with Theater Mogul.
