EDUFESTAS — Festival of the Lithuanian National Museum of Art

The Lithuanian National Museum of Art (LNDM) invites you to EDUFESTAS, a festival of art and education dedicated to curiosity, creativity, and community, for the first time on September 19-20. All festival events are free of charge, and LNDM museums in Vilnius can also be visited for free on both days. September 19 — "Behind the Museum Scenes: Teachers' and Students' Day." At LNDM branches in Vilnius, at 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM (additional times available upon registration), visitors will get a rare glimpse into storage facilities, restorers' work, and the "secrets of the museum's kitchen." From 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the National Art Gallery (Konstitucijos pr. 22) will host a discussion titled "Paths and Missteps: Works in the Museum's Collection." September 20 — "Museum Tent: Day of Discussions and Discoveries" in the Chodkevičiai Palace courtyard (Didžioji g. 4) from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Under a large tent, educators from eight LNDM branches will set up creative workshops and practical activities (10:00 AM–2:00 PM and 5:00 PM–7:00 PM). From 2:00 PM to 4:05 PM, an afternoon of discussions will take place, focusing on the museum's connection with youth, educators, and the community. In the evening, the courtyard will fill with the sounds of music by Mexeny and "dargana." The festival will bring together educators from eight LNDM branches: Vilnius Picture Gallery, National Art Gallery, Museum of Applied Arts and Design, Radvila Palace Museum of Art, Vytautas Kasiulis Art Museum, Pranas Gudynas Restoration Centre, and the Pranas Domšaitis Gallery and Palanga Amber Museum located in Klaipėda.
