Tour of the exhibition "Housekeeping in Dangerous Times" with the curators

Duration: 90 min (1.5 hrs) We invite you to a guided tour of the major Sapieha Palace exhibition "Housekeeping in Dangerous Times," led by the exhibition curators Inesa Brašiškė and Povilas Gumbis. The major Sapieha Palace exhibition "Housekeeping in Dangerous Times" explores the practices of contemporary artists who seek to grasp the boundaries of life stages and the forces that shape intergenerational connections. The artists presented in the exhibition reflect on the influence of everyday technologies on the self-creation of contemporary individuals: on the processes of identity formation and expression, relationships with others, the concept of maturity, and the societal norms, expectations, and supporting infrastructures that define it. Home, understood both as a physical space and a virtual medium, becomes a place where life narratives break apart and reassemble, threads of interpersonal relationships intertwine, fragments of popular culture arrange themselves, and information flows ceaselessly. The exhibition is complemented by the Sound Room – a media library and meeting space that introduces the history of Lithuanian underground, alternative music, and sound art, as well as the works of contemporary creators. The Sound Room is curated by Vladas Dieninis, a composer, performer, and educator, and Benas Trakimas, a music enthusiast, curator, and DJ, who are the curators of the SODAS 2123 platform "Method, Sound & Silence." This tour is an excellent opportunity not only to hear the story behind the exhibition and the curators' insights into the artworks but also to ask questions and engage in conversation.
