Evening Harmony: Piano Duo Concert | Eglė and Paulius Rudokai

“Evening Harmony” is a subtle piano duo programme that leads through a poetic journey from romantic lyricism to the worlds of modern sound. It is a dialogue of different eras, styles and musical thinking, revealed in an intimate chamber listening space. The programme is performed by pianists Eglė and Paulius Rudokai. The concert opens with Heinrich von Herzogenberg’s cycle “Song Voices” – music in which the piano seems to take on the qualities of the human voice: singing, responding, merging into a warm and living dialogue. György Ligeti’s “Five Pieces for Piano Four Hands” introduces a striking stylistic contrast. These are brief musical tableaux in which unexpected rhythmic energies, tonal shadows and subtle contemporary irony are born. Erik Satie’s cycle “Trois morceaux en forme de poire” (“Three Pieces in the Form of a Pear”) adds a singular lightness and paradoxical playfulness to the programme. This music is like an elegant smile, full of silence, space and unexpected thoughts. The concert reaches its culmination in Franz Schubert’s Fantasia in F minor – one of the most significant and profound works in the piano duo repertoire. Here, lyricism and dramatic tension merge, creating an emotionally powerful musical narrative. The event is free of charge, places are limited, and those wishing to attend the concert are invited to register: https://docs.google.com/…/1FAIpQLSfqmdeLOaV…/viewform…
