Exhibition “Two Paths”: Where Art Meets Questions of Being
On 7 May 2026 at 17:00, the LPC Art Gallery (J. Matulaičio sq. 3, Vilnius) opens the exhibition “Two Paths” featuring works by painter and set designer Giedrė Riškutė-Kariniauskienė and ceramicist Algimantas Patamsis. The exhibition invites visitors to explore the worlds of two distinct creators, where colour and form, intuition and technology, emotion and material converge. It is a meeting of two artistic paths, revealing different yet mutually complementary directions of creativity. VDU Professor and painter Giedrė Riškutė-Kariniauskienė is an artist who has held more than 30 solo exhibitions and participates actively in international symposia and en plein air events. For many years she worked in the field of set design, creating sets and costumes for more than fifty theatre productions as well as for the World Lithuanian Song and Dance Festivals and the international folklore festival “Baltica”. Nature inspirations and emotional states expressed through colour, mood and subtle painterly layers hold a central place in her work. Her paintings convey sensitivity and inner stillness, inviting the viewer into personal reflection. VDU Associate Professor and ceramicist Algimantas Patamsis is one of the few contemporary ceramicists working with crystalline glaze technique. In the exhibition the artist presents urns of extraordinary beauty — exceptional works in which technological mastery, surfaces inspired by natural structures and deep symbolic meaning merge. His works open a world of galaxies, constellations and organic forms, inviting contemplation of the fragility and harmony of existence. It is no coincidence that this exhibition is presented in the LPC Art Gallery, which belongs to a Funeral Services Centre — a space where art and essential questions of being meet. Here, the fragility of life, memory and inner experience are addressed. This is a place where people pause to be inspired by art, to find calm, to be with themselves and to enter into quiet reflection on the meaning of life. At the opening, a special atmosphere will be created by a dialogue of music and art: Loreta Sungailienė — a well-known Lithuanian folk performer, promoter of ethnic culture and television presenter, whose voice and authentic relationship with tradition create a sensitive emotional space — will participate alongside trombone virtuoso Vytautas Pilibavičius. Live music will merge with painting and ceramics, allowing visitors to feel creativity, emotion and life itself ever more deeply. The exhibition “Two Paths” becomes not only a presentation of two artists’ work, but also an invitation to the viewer to embark on a personal experience — to stop, to look closely and to discover one’s own relationship with art, and, at the same time, with life itself. The exhibition runs until 1 July 2026. The gallery is open every day from 9:00 to 19:00. You are warmly welcome!
