Family Day in Nature

Family Day returns to Markučiai! We invite you to bid farewell to summer and enjoy its last sunbeams while exploring the manor park. We await all families in the shade of ancient oaks, where we have prepared a bundle of activities. // Nature Painting Workshop with „Supa Ūkas“ | 11:00 AM–1:00 PM During the workshop, the park will transform into a space for inspiration and creativity: participants will embark on a slow walk through Markučiai Manor Park, observe the surroundings, and search for various plants, leaves, herbs, and other natural treasures. We will turn the collected natural materials into original paintings by composing them on cardboard sheets and securing them with colorful adhesive tapes. The workshop is designed for participants of all ages: older children and adults can create independently, while the youngest will be assisted by accompanying adults, especially with cutting and gluing. No special skills are required – the most important things are curiosity, a desire to explore, and to create. Come to pause, notice the beauty of nature, unleash your imagination, and have fun together. // Exploring Nature with Superheroes | 1:00 PM–3:00 PM We invite you to get acquainted with the inhabitants of the manor park. In nature, we will look for real superheroes: lichens, mosses, mushrooms, trees, flowers, and amphibians. Each of them has unique qualities that help them survive and maintain the balance of nature. Together, we will discover what superpowers they possess, what their "kryptonite" is, and learn why every organism is important to the entire ecosystem. During the educational activity, children are encouraged to learn through direct experience, critical thinking, and different senses. In the creative part, participants will embody a superhero by creating a mask inspired by a chosen park organism. This educational activity is intended for children and young people over 7 years old. Perhaps unpacked pens, new notebooks, pencil cases, or crayons are still lying in drawers, collecting dust from last year. We invite you not to throw away good items, but to share them with others! During Family Day, a stationery exchange will operate at the entrance to Markučiai Manor, where you are invited to bring items you no longer use and take what you need. Various school supplies are accepted: notebooks, pens, pencils, art and coloring supplies, paper, folders, rulers, pencil cases, backpacks, etc. We invite you to contribute to reducing consumption and help each other. Event activities are free of charge. You can explore the manor's exhibition and the exhibition "Konstantinas Prošinskis' Phenomenon: Mushroom Drawings" by purchasing a visitor's ticket.
