Green, Green, Wherever You Look… Opening Celebration in Viršuliškės

On August 25 at 6 PM, we invite you to the opening celebration of the new public space in Viršuliškės, "Green, Green, Wherever You Look…" Until quite recently, a rarely used green area between J. Rutkauskas Street and Pilaitės Avenue, near the Press House, has now been adapted for rest, walking, and active leisure. One of the most distinctive features of the new space is a preserved wetland, across which a wooden boardwalk has been built. On opening night, we invite you to briefly "switch on nature mode" – to explore, discover, create, taste, and simply spend time in a green space in the city. Flute music in nature – the festive atmosphere will be enhanced by flutist Dominyka Šeibok . The subtle sounds of the flute amid nature will evoke birdsong and create a cozy, peaceful mood. "Most Nature-Inspired Surname" contest – if your surname hides a plant, animal, bird, or other nature motif, it might just deserve the title of most nature-inspired. Winners will be decorated with bird badges from "Invisible Vilnius" ("Neakivaizdinis Vilnius"). Herbal education and tea tasting – get acquainted with beneficial plants, their properties, and the different flavors of herbs. Discovering the world of insects – we'll examine insects living in the natural meadow up close, and some can even be viewed under a microscope. Fan-making workshop – together with the public institution "Climate Neutral Vilnius" ("Neutralus klimatui Vilnius"), we'll make and decorate our own fans with nature motifs. Getting to know Vilnius's birds, for kids – we'll color bird cards, learn interesting facts, and listen to their calls. Children can take the cards home and later use them to identify the birds they encounter around the city. The new space is still waiting for its official name – during the celebration, we'll present several possible names and invite Vilnius residents to vote on them. "Rimi" wheel of fortune – during the event you can spin the wheel of fortune and win a variety of treats. Ice cream for neighbors – the "Romeo ir Džiuljeta" real estate development project, located next to the new green space, will treat visitors to ice cream and invite them to a sweet moment of celebration and neighborly conversation.
