Guided Tour of the Exhibition 'Superglue, or Making a Friend'
The Contemporary Art Centre (CAC) invites you to visit the exhibition "Superglue, or Making a Friend". This international group exhibition opens the exhibition program of the centre's new director, Valentinas Klimašauskas, and invites a rethinking of the CAC's relationship with its audience. It examines the themes of identity formation, connection with the other, and the role of contemporary art in the face of the world's growing polarization and fragmentation. Looking to both historical and contemporary works, the exhibition asks: what kind of glue could hold a fractured society together today? Is it still possible to build a relationship with the other? Is that one of the functions of contemporary art? And finally: how, despite everything, can we become friends? Guided tours with CAC guides are an excellent way to get a concise overview of the exhibitions' different yet thematically overlapping ideas. It is a kind of exercise for the eye and the mind, encouraging visitors not only to observe but also to engage – to build a connection with the works, their choreography and the stories they tell.
