Guided Tour of the Exhibition “The Book Dragon. A Fantastic Tale About the Beauty of Books” with Curator Indrė Urbelytė

During the tour we will embark on a journey through the world of books and look at the book not only as reading material, but also as a work of art, the result of meticulous craftsmanship, and a witness to art history. We will find out how the form of the book changed over the centuries – what materials it was made from, how it was printed, illustrated, bound, and decorated. Why were old books so rare and expensive? How were they decorated? What is an ex libris, and what can it reveal about a book's owner?
