Guided tour of the Palace of the Grand Dukes 07 26
500,000 stories are hidden beneath the roof of the Palace of the Grand Dukes. Yes, that is how many various finds were discovered during archaeological research. The ceremonial staffs of the pagan high priests (krivių krivaičiai), a 600-year-old straw hat, the oldest tile with the image of the Vytis (the Chase) found so far on Lithuanian territory, taxidermied birds, a reconstructed tiled stove – the second largest in Europe, a secret little door in the grand duke's chair, and hundreds of kilograms of sugar in the palace cellars – each of these unique exhibits and many others will tell their own extraordinary story and that of Lithuania. On the last Sunday of the month, admission to the Palace of the Grand Dukes is free. The tour is free, but at its end we ask you to thank the guide with a tip.
