Guided Tours at the National Protected Areas Visitor Centre Choose a guided tour (for groups of up to 25 people): “Discover and Explore Lithuania’s Protected Areas” (recommended for visitors of all ages) The tour takes place in the interactive exposition of the National Visitor Centre – a symbolic gateway to Lithuania’s national and regional parks, reserves, and strict nature reserves. How many protected areas do we have? Why were they established and what makes them special? What biodiversity can be found within them? Visitors can listen to the calls of protected birds, visit the “Bat” cinema room, and get answers to their questions at the question-mark table. This tour is recommended for first-time visitors to the National Visitor Centre. “Get to Know Lithuania’s Trees” (recommended for visitors of all ages; runs during the warm season) During the tour, participants will take a walk through Sapiegų Park, learning to identify the trees growing there and discovering the diversity of Lithuania’s forests. You will also learn about the ecological services provided by trees and the threats posed by invasive species to native flora. “Landscape Diversity in Protected Areas” (recommended for pupils in grades 8–12) During the tour, participants will discover how Lithuania’s landscape formed, what components it consists of, what makes it unique, and why it is protected. In an interactive sandbox, participants can shape the landscape with their own hands and observe how wind and whirlwinds form, how precipitation accumulates and where, how hills and plains develop, and even try to simulate a volcanic eruption! The tour price does NOT include a visitor ticket. A visitor ticket can be purchased on arrival at the National Visitor Centre or čia... Single visitor ticket price for an adult – €2. Discounted visitor ticket – €1 (for pupils, students, old-age pensioners).
