Gypsy Swing 4 – Midnight In Paris

The "Gypsy Swing 4" quartet invites you to "Midnight In Paris," a concert steeped in tradition and European jazz, where romance and emotion intertwine with passionate rhythms, lightning-fast acoustic improvisations, and the distinctive, rich, velvety vocals of Gabija Baužaitė. An evening of wonderful music awaits you, bathed in candlelight and filled with a Parisian atmosphere. The program will feature not only works by legendary genre representatives such as Django Reinhardt and Bireli Lagrene, but also traditional swing repertoire songs by Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Prima, and Ethel Waters. Music by contemporary jazz and traditional music artists like Cyrille Aimee, "Pink Martini," and other renowned performers will also be heard in various languages. Nerijus Bakula, one of Lithuania's most prominent accordionists, has participated in numerous jazz and other music genre festivals and projects both in Lithuania and abroad. A virtuoso on his instrument, he will not only evoke the music once heard in the streets and cafes of Paris but also surprise skeptics who doubt the accordion's place in jazz. Nerijus will be joined by the excellent guitarist Aidas Tamulevičius, who specializes in traditional jazz/swing and jazz manouche (gypsy) music and this year won 1st place in the "Jazz/Acoustic" category of the annual "Tamsta GUITAR DAY ’26" competition, as well as the talented double bassist Aistis Kondratas. This instrumental trio performed splendidly at the Kaunas Philharmonic in spring. In this concert, the male energy will be tempered and elegantly complemented by Gabija Baužaitė, a subtle owner of an impressive voice, participant in numerous jazz, R&B, and soul music projects, whose emotional and profound performance leaves no one indifferent.
