Helium: Lithuanian Premieres. GRIMMASOS
A contemporary circus performance based on the first uncensored edition of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales. Based on three unknown Brothers Grimm fairy tales from the first and uncensored edition of the book, released long before it was intended for children, GRIMMASOS attempts to combine circus, dance, and the art of storytelling into an intimate and immersive performance. Violent, chaotic, gloomy. The stories depict a world plagued by misfortune. People and creatures lose their lives, regain them, seek revenge, and sometimes a goat destroys a family's life. Can the circus be a meeting place to understand the inexplicable? Can audiences and artists create together? This performance is created by three artists, three spectators, while the rest observe by reading, dancing, and performing acrobatic tricks. All of this is based on fairy tales which, on the one hand, have nothing to do with real life, but on the other hand, tell something deeply human and recognizable beyond words.
