Together we will soar above castles and hillforts, manors and monasteries, churches and old town districts, as well as modern architectural landmarks. This is a journey that will not only take your breath away and fill your heart with love for Lithuania, but will also take you to places you have never had the chance to visit before. In the film PLAY LIFE , you will travel through over twenty paintings by Algis Kriščūnas brought to life in virtual reality. Using modern computer graphics technology, the artist’s works were recreated in three-dimensional space and placed within an all-encompassing virtual environment. In this nearly half-hour film, Algis Kriščūnas’s paintings become living stories, given meaning by an emotionally stirring choreography of directorial choices and a specially adapted original musical soundtrack. The film was created by a large team of Lithuanian cinema, computer graphics, and animation professionals. In this film you will also hear a unique story written by the artist himself, Algis Kriščūnas, narrated by actors Inga Jankauskaite and Mantas Jankavičius. It is a conversation about the passing of life – a nostalgic tale coloured by memories and experiences, in which the artist’s creative thought finds meaning and a complex world of emotions is revealed. Horse Dominykas’s Journey to the Stars – a virtual reality animated story about the brave horse Dominykas, who sets off on a cosmic odyssey in search of a magical gemstone that can save his beloved flower Svajonė from the winter cold. Each planet he visits teaches Dominykas life lessons about friendship and the courage to overcome fear. Having found the gemstone he sought, horse Dominykas returns to Earth, ready to share the wisdom and warmth he has gained. This is a profound and multi-layered story for the whole family. One of the most popular works of contemporary Lithuanian literature comes to life in virtual reality, exploring our virtues and our darker sides, while the characters’ witty dialogues help reveal life’s truths. The relationships between the story’s heroes reflect the real world, so this tale will appeal not only to children – adults too will find plenty to reflect on.
