Hidden Within: Divine and Royal Treasures. Exhibition Tour in Vilnius

"Hidden Within" is a long-awaited exhibition revealing many secrets of Vilnius Cathedral. Before your eyes, the treasury's gold and gem-adorned liturgical vessels will gleam, silver-embroidered priestly vestments will shimmer, relics of saints' bodies will take your breath away, and, of course, the exhibition's culmination – arguably the greatest discovery of the 21st century in Lithuania – the royal regalia of the rulers. You will learn when, why, and where the remains of Grand Duke Alexander and two wives of Sigismund Augustus, Elizabeth of Habsburg and Barbara Radziwiłł, were hidden in the Cathedral. You will see their posthumous crowns, scepter, sword, and other royal grave goods. The treasury of Vilnius Cathedral holds invaluable works of art that tell the history of our country, bear witness to traditions of patronage and the craftsmanship of artisans, reveal international ties that connected the Grand Duchy of Lithuania with many other European countries, and also commemorate the graces prayed for by believers and true miracles. The exhibition invites you on a journey through time, exploring the discovery of the treasury in 1931, 1985, and 2024, interspersed with stories of its concealment in 1655, 1939, and 1991. Tour duration ~ 1.5 hours. Meeting point : at the ticket offices. A separate ticket to the museum itself must be purchased , so we recommend arriving earlier. The exhibition spaces will be opened specifically for us at a more convenient time, allowing us to calmly explore both this exhibition and additional areas. Therefore, it is essential that the group gathers in full. So, if you see a suitable date, we encourage you not to delay, invite friends, and plan this experience in advance. Please do not be late and have a copy of your ticket saved on your phone. If you are late, you can join the tour, but you will need to find the guide on your own, as guides do not answer calls during working hours. You can purchase tickets here.
