How Do We Listen to Music? | Presentation and Record Listening Session

Instead of the previously announced traditional presentation by Artašės Gazarian on sound, music, and emotions, an extended presentation titled “How Do We Listen to Music?” will take place from 6:00 PM. During this presentation, we will explore a series of intriguing questions about musical sound, music categories, listener preferences, different ways we listen to music, and much more. We will also listen to a good deal of music during the presentation, so it will last from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. After the presentation, from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM, there will be time for a record listening session. You can also come just for the record listening session starting at 8:00 PM. Some are led by interesting “guides” – musicologists, musicians, audiophiles, and other experts in their field, inviting you to get closer to the musical culture of a specific genre, composer, instrument, performer, or country. In other meetings, music from recordings becomes the main focus of the evening – this involves listening to music according to a pre-prepared program. We listen to high-quality reproductions from vinyl records or high-resolution digital files – this allows us to feel the specific emotional content, appreciate the nuances of performance, and immerse ourselves in the depths of this music.
