Hunters' Festival in Vilnius: Vilnius residents invited to a free Venison Feast On September 6, the Hunters' Festival and Venison Feast will take place in Šventaragis Valley by the Palace of the Grand Dukes. All day long, visitors can look forward to hunting culture education, a hunters' procession, concerts, family entertainment and free venison soup. At the event, running 10 AM–5 PM, the Lithuanian Hunters' Society will invite Vilnius residents and city guests to get closer to hunting traditions, nature knowledge and the modern hunting community. One of the event's main highlights is the Venison Feast. Visitors will be treated to free venison soup, and will also be able to watch up close the process of roasting a whole deer and learn about the traditions of preparing venison. Event programme: 10:30 – 10:50 A hunters' procession with flags, dogs and a brass band marches from the Town Hall along Didžioji and Pilies streets to the event site. 10:50 – 10:55 Opening of the festival, greetings to the hunters and festival guests. 10:55 – 11:15 The hunting community and gathered guests are greeted by the Minister of National Defence – Robertas Kaunas, MEP and hunter – Paulius Saudargas, LMD President – Gediminas Vaitiekūnas, LMD board member – Mindaugas Jablonskis. 11:15 – 12:00 KAM (Ministry of National Defence) discussion. Participants include Minister of National Defence Robertas Kaunas, Head of the Military Commandant's Office Board Col. Danas Mockūnas, Chairman of the Board of the Lithuanian Hunters' Society Gediminas Vaitiekūnas, hunter and commandant's-office soldier Laurynas Suodaitis, and hunter and markswoman Gerda Sadauskė. The discussion will be moderated by „Verslo žinios“ editor Rolandas Barysas. 12:15 – 12:35 Concert. The Vilnius Hunters' Orchestra Tauro Ragai. Led by Vidmantas Lunius. 12:35 – 12:45 Presentation of the LMD emblem. LMD board member Mindaugas Jablonskis presents the new LMD emblem and the story of its origin. 13:00 – 13:20 Hunting dog talent contest and awards. 14:00 – 14:25 Hunters' talent contest and awards. 14:30 – 15:20 Concert. The band Buzzing Lips, led by Jurgis Dapšauskas. 15:30 – 15:45 Awards for hunters. 16:00 – 16:10 Announcement of the lottery winner. The winner of the Hunter's Ticket lottery is drawn and announced. The prize is presented by sponsor Hikmicro. 16:10 – 16:15 Closing of the festival. During the festival a lottery will be held, with a prize sponsored by Hikmicro – a thermal imaging device for a phone. The Hunters' Festival and Venison Feast will take place on September 6, 2026, 10 AM–5 PM, in Šventaragis Valley by the Palace of the Grand Dukes in Vilnius. The event is organised by the Lithuanian Hunters' Society. Event partners: the Franciscan Friars Minor of the Lithuanian St. Casimir Province, Monastery of St. Francis and St. Bernardine, the National Museum – Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, and „Vilniaus dienos“ (Vilnius Culture Centre, a public institution).
