IMPRO241 | 16TH SEASON SHOW - First Times. Sixteen seasons. And we still don’t know what will happen on stage. In fact, it would be a little suspicious if we did. IMPRO241 began its 16th season in September, and on 29 October we meet where stories that no one had even imagined five minutes earlier have begun countless times. Actors, live music, the stage and you! Show theme: first times. In an improv show, the script is born here and now, and the audience becomes its co-author.

You suggest a place, a character, a situation or simply a strange idea – we take it onto the stage and see where it leads. Sometimes to a kitchen. Sometimes to space. Sometimes to a very awkward family anniversary. And most importantly – what you see that evening will never happen again. ______ON STAGE – THE IMPRO241 QUARTET: BENAS RUPEIKIS is someone for whom improvisation is somewhat like snowboarding down a mountain: you can prepare, but from a certain point on, all you can do is be in the moment and react to what is happening.

SILVIJA ŠUMSKIENĖ began teaching improvisation back in 2012 and over the years has come to see that “I don’t know” is sometimes a much more interesting beginning than “I’ve planned everything.” EGLĖ KORDIUKOVAITĖ has compared improvisation to riding a bicycle downhill – without hands and with your eyes closed. In short: a decision-making method that we probably would not recommend in traffic regulations, but that works brilliantly on stage. EIMANTAS SAKALAUSKAS sees improvisation as a creative sport in which it is not only the mind that works.

Words, body, attention, movement, sound, a partner – all of these become material for the stage. AND THE FIFTH PERSON, WHO WAS ALSO GIVEN NO SCRIPT: SAULIUS SAKAS – he improvises together with the actors.
