Interpretation of Computed Tomography Images and Preparation for Implantation

Target audience: When consulting a patient regarding planned implantation and drawing up a treatment plan, it is crucial to assess bone defects, soft tissues, surrounding structures, and potential pathologies. The aim of this seminar is to learn how to analyze 3D images, recognize pathologies, plan future treatment, and effectively apply cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) in daily practice. The seminar is designed for general dentists, periodontists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, and oral surgeons – both beginners and those wishing to deepen their knowledge. The seminar lecturer is oral surgeon Milda Vitosytė. The professional development course program is approved by the Ministry of Health. 6 academic hours of professional development are awarded. Program: 09:00 – 09:30 Registration; 09:30 – 10:30 CBCT basics, scanning protocols, errors, and artifacts; 10:30 – 11:00 Coffee break; 11:00 – 12:00 Legal aspects and documentation; 12:00 – 13:00 CBCT anatomy and pathological changes; 13:00 – 14:00 Lunch; 14:00 – 15:00 Application of CBCT in different fields of dentistry; 15:30 – 17:30 Practical demonstration: CBCT case analysis, implantation planning.
