The NESSUN DORMA Night Concert Marathon festival invites you to "Spanish Colors," a concert by guitarist Saulius Jegelevičius and pianist Giedrė Gabnytė, where subtle lyricism, Southern temperament, and the enchanting sound of classical guitar will meet. This program will take listeners on a musical journey from contemporary meditation to Spanish passion. The evening's music will intertwine tranquility and dynamism, dreamy contemplation and a temperamental outburst of emotions, revealing the broad possibilities of the guitar and piano duo. The first part of the concert will feature "Hypnosis," a cycle by contemporary American composer Gary Schocker. This five-movement work creates a unique sonic space where subtle timbral nuances, a slow pulsation of musical thought, and a mesmerizing atmosphere invite you to immerse yourself in a world of inner states. The second part of the evening is dedicated to one of the most famous 20th-century works for guitar – Joaquín Rodrigo's "Concierto de Aranjuez." The melodies of this piece reveal the beauty of Spanish gardens, love, nostalgia, and longing. The famous Adagio holds a special place, having become one of the most recognizable and poignant musical pages in all of guitar literature. The guitar and piano duo will reveal a wide spectrum of emotions this evening – from gentle lyricism and contemplation to passionate Spanish rhythms and dramatic experiences. Pianist Giedrė Gabnytė is a laureate of international competitions and a graduate of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (prof. Halina Radvilaitė's class). She completed an internship at the "Mozarteum" University of Music and Performing Arts in Salzburg, in prof. A. Lozonczy's class, and honed her skills in masterclasses in Germany, Finland, and Austria. The pianist actively performs in Lithuania and abroad, has played with the Lithuanian National Symphony and Kaunas City Symphony Orchestras, the M. K.
