The exhibition "prokr-u-stinacijos" by Jonė Dūdaitė and Rokas Bilinskas will be open at the VDA gallery "Artifex" until June 12. The exhibition is part of the VDA Graduation Show 2026. The brutal metaphor of Procrustes' myth of standardization, where a traveler is forcibly "fitted" to the dimensions of a bed, suggests an absurd attempt to confine creative energy within frameworks. Procrastination, as passivity, constant delay, and avoidance of "fitting into a frame," is contrasted with this coercion. These two states become starting points for contemplating the boundaries of contemporary art. In the exhibition, two artists seek answers to fundamental questions posed by the art field: what is a work of art? where are the boundaries of art? is a physical body essential for a work? what makes a work of art impactful? can quotation become a new work? does the act of correcting another work become an artistic gesture? The defenses of the graduation works are scheduled for June 8.
