Journaling Workshop with D. Banaitytė at Vilnius University

KOMMON invites you to a series of special events dedicated to discovering what we, as different people, have "in common". On August 20 at 18.00 , we invite you to meet in one of the most impressive spaces at Vilnius University – the Vincas Krėvė Hall. We believe writing culture is best explored in a place where language, literature and ideas have been cultivated for centuries. The event's guest is Donata Banaitytė , a professional journaling coach who will introduce you to the journaling practice that is gaining popularity worldwide. What is journaling? Journaling is a mindful writing practice focused not on the result, but on the process. It helps you pause, reflect on everyday experiences, better understand your own thoughts, and nurture emotional wellbeing. It's time for yourself – without judgment, without rules, without the pressure to write "correctly". During the workshop you will: • learn about the history, principles and different methods of journaling; • discover the benefits this practice can bring to everyday life; • take part in a hands-on journaling session, trying out various writing exercises and techniques. The workshop will be led by Donata Banaitytė – a professional journaling coach and alumna of Vilnius University's Journalism programme. With more than 15 years of experience in text creation and communications, she now dedicates her expertise to spreading the journaling practice in Lithuania. The event will be moderated by Laurita Markevičiūtė-Zakarevičė – an alumna of Vilnius University's Philology programme, an expert in Lithuanian-German bilateral relations, and head of KOMMON. Important: please bring your own notebook and pen to the event. The event is free and open to everyone . Registration is required , as space is limited: https://kommon.lt/wpa-events/pazintis-su-journaling/ How to find the Vincas Krėvė Hall? Head to the M. K. Sarbievijus courtyard of the VU Faculty of Philology (Universiteto g. 5, 01513 Vilnius) and walk all the way to the end, then turn left and pass through a narrow tunnel – you'll come out into a new courtyard. Enter the building on the right marked "Domus Philologiae". There will be stairs on your right – go up to the second floor and walk straight down the long corridor. When you reach the writers' hall, turn left, and you'll find the Vincas Krėvė Hall on your right. The event is organised by the KOMMON Social Wellness Club together with the Faculty of Philology of Vilnius University and the German-Baltic Future Fund.
