"NIGHTS OF CABIRIA" First premiere of the trilogy "FELLIANA 2026-2028" The Užupis Drama Theatre presents the first premiere of the theatre cycle "Felliana", inspired by the work of legendary Italian filmmaker Federico Fellini. This is a tender, poetic, and grotesque tragicomedy based on the famous film Nights of Cabiria — the story of a small person in a large and indifferent world. At the centre of the play is Cabiria. A lonely prostitute living on the margins of life, endlessly searching for love, closeness, and faith in people. Despite painful betrayals, humiliations, and loneliness, she never loses the ability to dream, laugh, and believe that life can still be beautiful. The role of Cabiria is created by Virginija Straigytė . Cabiria is like an angel with tarnished wings. She stumbles, makes mistakes, is deceived and hurt, yet even after the most painful blows of life she never loses her inner light. Her life becomes a constant balancing act between laughter and pain, between reality and dream. On stage, fantasy merges with reality: city streets transform into dreamlike spaces, and everyday people become almost circus characters. A Fellinesque world is created here as if from memory or a dream — full of music, light, shadow, grotesque, melancholy, and the joy of life. The play interweaves comic and tragic situations, lindy hop dances, magic shows, the living energy of theatre, and cinematic poetry. The set design and costumes aim to preserve the authentic atmosphere of post-war Italy. The music of Nino Rota — an inseparable part of Fellini's cinematic world — will accompany the characters between dream, circus, and the reality of life.
