Director Uršulė Bartoševičiūtės production based on Kata Wébers play "Pieces of a Woman" is the story of a young couple expecting their first child -- a family drama set in the present day, driven by the strength and resolve of its female characters. The thirty-year-old Maja struggles with personal tragedy. In trying to return to life, she is forced to question everything she has known and rebuild her relationships from scratch. "Pieces of a Woman" is a vivid portrait of a contemporary woman fighting for the right to her own body and everyday life. Kata Wéber wrote the play in 2018 with Hungarian director Kornél Mundruczó. It premiered at TR Warszawa, Poland, and toured the world. In 2020 it became the Netflix film "Pieces of a Woman" starring Vanessa Kirby. This is the first professional Polish-language production in a Lithuanian state theatre since the interwar period.
