By a stroke of luck (or perhaps not so lucky), the hen ends up in a secluded homestead, once a cozy restaurant. In the chicken coop, where the homeowner accommodates her, the hen's personal life adventures begin. In them, parallels with human cohabitation and mating rules, ways of demonstrating power and superiority – more than one might think. The hen longs for a family but is kept for her eggs, so she must once again devise escape plans. Observing the winged creature's adventures, the world unfolds from her perspective. The hen's keen gaze explores threats, tensions, moral failings, and brief moments of happiness in the lives of the people around her. Paradoxical and even tragicomic as it may be, a bloody drama that unfolds in the human world finally gives the hen hope for a long and happy life. Hungarian director György Pálfi is renowned for his uncomfortable, even shocking ideas and unique stylistic solutions, and his films „Žagsulys“, „Taksidermija“, „Laisvas kritimas“ have won dozens of international awards. In his latest film „Vištelė“, the author's talent for combining experimentalism and audience appeal is revealed.
