Luxurious Antakalnis

Although during the Soviet years Antakalnis was built up with grey, identical blocks that can give the impression of a dreary district as you drive along Antakalnio Street, gold glitters even in the ashes. I invite you to get to know the palaces that, one after another, endowed Antakalnis with luxury, their owners and their tangled life stories. Do you know where in Antakalnis there was a palace with glass ceilings and mermaids? And whom do we have to thank for the fact that the Lithuanian language is heard in Vilnius? Or perhaps you know where in Antakalnis elephants now in their fourth century live? It is hard to imagine or to describe how many curiosities this wonderful district of our city conceals. Get ready for a serious walk, both on paved paths and on winding forest trails. You will return home richer in knowledge and with stronger heart and leg muscles.
