Lukas Geniušas is one of the most interesting and prominent pianists of his generation. Praised for his talent and maturity („The Guardian“), he is regularly invited to perform recitals in prestigious concert halls worldwide, such as London's Wigmore Hall, Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, Paris's Salle Gaveau, Louvre Auditorium, New York's Frick Collection, Washington's Phillips Collection, Genoa's Teatro Carlo Felice, Milan's Sala Verdi, and others. The pianist is a passionate admirer of chamber music and an exceptionally curious performer, who gladly performs works by contemporary composers or takes on repertoire rarely heard in concert halls.

L. Geniušas's critically acclaimed discography includes works by L. van Beethoven, J. Brahms, S. Rachmaninoff, F. Chopin, as well as chamber music recordings. His first recording of S. Prokofiev's piano sonatas, released by „Mirare“, was awarded the „Choc de Classica“ and „Diapason“ magazine's Recital of the Year awards in 2019. In 2022, together with opera soloist Asmik Grigorian, the pianist won the prestigious classical music award „Gramophone“ for their joint work – S. Rachmaninoff's romance album „Dissonance“.

This evening, in the LVSO concert hall, L. Geniušas will present Ludwig van Beethoven's (1770–1827) Fourth Piano Concerto in G major to the audience. After its premiere in 1809, the German magazine „Allgemeine musikalische Zeitung“ wrote: „This concerto is the most charming, unique, artistic, and complex of all L. van Beethoven's concertos ever created.“
