M.K.Čiurlionis "IN THE FOREST" / pianist Darius Mažintas and video artist Rimas Sakalauskas
„I would like to compose a symphony from the roar of waves, from the secret language of an ancient forest, from the twinkling of stars...“ M. K. Čiurlionis In the very heart of Vilnius Old Town, at the Lithuanian Artists' Association (Lietuvos dailininkų sąjunga), Vokiečių St. 4, M. K. Čiurlionis' dreamlike world will open for one evening – full of music, images, nature, and silence. Pianist Darius Mažintas will perform M. K. Čiurlionis' symphonic poem "Miške" (In the Forest), arranged for piano, and several of the composer's preludes. Here, music will become a path leading deeper, where sound merges with memory, and silence acquires its own color. Visual artist Rimas Sakalauskas will create on stage alongside him. His video installation will be born in real-time, following the flow of the music. Motifs from M. K. Čiurlionis' paintings will change, move, and come to life, creating a space where the clear boundary between music and image, reality and dream, disappears. This is not a traditional concert, but a 60-minute experience – an invitation to pause briefly, listen, and venture into the forest. Into M. K. Čiurlionis' silence. Perhaps – and into yourself. Only two evenings in Vilnius. Only 50 listeners at each. October 16, Friday, 7 PM November 14, Saturday, 7 PM Lietuvos dailininkų sąjunga Vokiečių St. 4, Vilnius
