MARO – SO MUCH HAS CHANGED

Portuguese tenderness under the open Vilnius sky. MARO is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer from Lisbon, Portugal. A graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, she launched her musical career in 2018, releasing five albums and one EP. She later joined Jacob Collier's worldwide DJESSE World Tour as a band member. During this time MARO opened for artists including Jessie J, Gipsy Kings, Charlotte Cardin and The Paper Kites. In 2020 she initiated the project "ITSAME, MARO!" -- a 100-episode collaboration series with artists from around the world, including Eric Clapton, Pablo Alborán, Lizzy McAlpine, Ivan Lins, ANAVITÓRIA and Lennon Stella. In 2022 MARO won Festival da Canção and represented Portugal in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with the song "saudade, saudade", reaching the top ten. She subsequently released the album "can you see me?", blending pop, trap, world and folk influences. In April 2023 MARO presented "hortelã" -- an acoustic trio album recorded with Catalan guitarists Darío Barroso and Pau Figueres. The album, mostly sung in Portuguese, was honoured with the José Afonso Award as best Portuguese album of the year. Following the joint EP "PIRILAMPO" with NASAYA, in 2024 they released the album "LIFELINE", revealing a new, more electronic direction in MARO's work. Now presenting her new album "SO MUCH HAS CHANGED" -- a brighter, more energetic chapter -- MARO begins a new creative era and in 2026 will present a full-band concert programme to the world for the first time.
