"Čiurlionis and Debussy" is a subtle musical journey where one of Lithuania's most prominent ensembles, the string quartet "Mettis", and harpist Liucilė Vilimaitė will reveal the beauty of Lithuanian and European music traditions. Uniting their forces for a joint concert program, these audience-loved and critically acclaimed performers will present an evening imbued with romantic sensibility to the Vilnius audience, featuring works of exceptional beauty. Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis's String Quartet in C minor is permeated by the spirit of Lithuanian identity and the fundamental creative heritage of the nation, while Claude Debussy's works – String Quartet in G minor and "Danse sacrée et danse profane" – embody the lightness and sophistication of French Impressionism. Arnold Bax's Quintet for Harp and String Quartet, full of romantic expression and rich texture, will complement the concert with the colors of British music.
