Motorcycle tour "The Border in the Middle of Lithuania: Along the Trail of the Demarcation Line"
We invite you on a full-day sightseeing motorcycle tour, "The Border in the Middle of Lithuania: Along the Trail of the Demarcation Line". For almost twenty years, a border ran through the middle of Lithuania, separating Lithuania from the Vilnius region occupied by Poland. During this trip we will travel through the former border area and get acquainted with one of the most interesting and least-known periods of Lithuanian history. You will learn how the demarcation line came about, how it changed life in the surrounding towns, why the centre of Trakai district was moved to Kaišiadorys, and the circumstances in which the Diocese of Kaišiadorys was established. During the motorcycle tour we will also visit several religious sites - the Rosary Mysteries Park established at the birthplace of Cardinal Vincentas Sladkevičius, and the Monastery of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Bethlehem and St. Bruno on the bank of the Neris near Paparčiai. Most of the route will run on paved roads. Stops are planned during the motorcycle tour for historical narration, short rests, and photography. Ticket price: EUR 18. The ticket price includes: professional guide services throughout the trip; a carefully prepared excursion programme. The ticket price does not include fuel, meals, or other personal expenses. The tour is intended for motorcyclists travelling on their own motorcycles. We will ride at a calm pace, in accordance with the Road Traffic Rules.
