Music and dance performance "Rasos - Drops of Experience"

"Rasos – Drops of Experience" is an interdisciplinary, multi-genre dance performance in which Lithuanian and Indian cultural traditions, music, dance and contemporary stage expression meet. At the heart of the performance is a tiny dewdrop, holding within it a multitude of meanings. In Lithuanian culture, dew is closely linked to the tradition of the Rasos festival, the cycles of nature, life and water. In the Indian performing arts tradition, the Sanskrit word rasa means an emotional "flavour" - a special experience arising from dance, music, movement and emotional expression. On stage, the sound of Lithuanian kanklės and songs meets the Indian bansuri flute and the rhythms of various Indian percussion instruments. This musical dialogue becomes a space in which different cultural traditions not only merge but also retain their individuality. Traditional Indian dance styles - Bharatanatyam, Kathak and Odissi - become inspiration for contemporary interpretations of movement. The vocabulary of classical Indian dance meets modern dance techniques, seeking new forms of expression for the body, rhythm, emotion and space. The performance explores the human body and consciousness as a constantly changing space. Just as a dewdrop changes its form under the influence of its surroundings, so too is human experience shaped by movement, emotions, thoughts and one's relationship with the world. The dewdrop becomes a symbol of transformation here - from a tiny drop of water to an all-connecting element, from personal experience to a broader cultural and cosmic experience. "Rasos – Drops of Experience" is a meeting of Lithuanian and Indian music and dance traditions, inviting audiences to experience how a new, contemporary stage language is born from different cultures, sounds and movements.
