No Wi-Fi in the Countryside || A Puppet and Object Show for Children

This is a story about a girl who, one day climbing into her grandparents' attic, discovers a world of objects that are alive and (most importantly!) have stories to tell. A moose head, grandpa's bicycle, grandma's high heels, and even a toilet: everyone here remembers the most important stories – of love, of fashion or customs from bygone eras... These forgotten, no-longer-needed items, left 'upstairs,' get angry and laugh, tell jokes, proverbs, and invite us to ponder: is everything we don't know, don't understand, really as 'boring' as the play's heroine says? The play is created by a young, ambitious, and humorous team of artists already well-known to the audience of the "Lėlės" Theatre. Director Šarūnas Datenis and artist Antanas Dubra have been successfully collaborating since their very first play, "The Money-Collecting Rooster," which won the Golden Stage Cross award. Composer Vytautas Leistrumas joined them with the play "Here It Was / Here It Isn't," and later, playwright Teklė Kavtaradzė joined for the production of "Pinocchio." "'Before, you'd use a phone for ten years, now it's two at most; cars would be driven for fifty years, now it's good if it's ten. We're used to throwing things away immediately after using them, but before, objects had their own history – important and interesting, which, to prevent it from sinking into oblivion, needs to be known like grandma's old recipes,' says director Š. Datenis, introducing the play's concept. 'Our play tells a magical story about objects that come to life in the attic: a girl arrives in the countryside with her parents, suddenly she realizes there's no internet, and after arguing with her parents because there's nothing else to do in the village, she goes up to tidy the attic. There, various objects come to life and begin to tell her their stories…'"
